Re-Foreign Interference

Partisan actors are busy discrediting their own losses & their opponent's wins

State institutions are busy asking for more intelligence & enforcement powers with little oversight

All are echoing various components of racism & exclusion against the diaspora community.

In the diaspora's eyes, the media released ZERO new info regarding influence/interference activities.The diaspora is on the front row seats to the DECADES of foreign influence operations - in & out of election cycles. The diaspora was the first to call attention to these.

But rather concerning is the patterns of sinophobia & moral panic - with the help of Cdn politicians, intel/policing institutions, & Cdn media.

Rather than addressing the insufficient legislative & regulatory framework, the diaspora is an easier target for attack & blame.

Fuck it let me say it again:
the diaspora communities are victims of transnational violence from the Chinese party-state, but the diaspora communities are also marginalized here by Canadian society

policing is not the solution.
deportation is not the solution.
banning Chinese organizations is not the solution.
challenging election results is not the solution.

There is only one solution: to strengthen democratic institutions:
from riding nomination races, election finances, mis/disinformation guidelines, foreign influence transparency; from federal to provincial/territories to city halls to school boards.
