5 years since Hongkongers stormed the Legislative Council.
For over a century, the city of Hong Kong was denied political autonomy.
LegCo was never representative of Hongkongers. Designed by our oppressors & colonizers to pacify the city’s volition for a democratic future.
The words painted at LegCo: It was you who taught us peaceful marches do not work.
係你教我哋和平遊行係冇用
After seeing HKSAR & HKPF violently suppressed peaceful marches with 1M+ turnouts, this sentence shook me to my core. This was my, & many others’ political awakening.
When Hongkongers occupied LegCo chamber, it was grassroots Hongkongers reclaimed power over the building & infrastructure that claimed to represent their interest.
Whilst HKSAR & Beijing paints Hongkongers as rioters, it was they who forced us to turn to forceful resistance.
已經五年啦！我冇忘記我哋當初嘅承諾，講好嘅煲底再見，一定會㗎！你哋留守喺香港嘅人，要好好生活，請你哋等多陣。海外嘅港人會繼承呢個革命嘅責任，中共倒下嗰一日，我哋會準備好返嚟一齊重建香港。脫離中共之後，一個必定嘅事實就係香港自決，由香港人決定香港嘅未來。- Cherie
