⛵️Disrupting the Status Quo 🇵🇸
Disruption does not have to be chaotic or grand to be impactful - 30 random things at age 30

The Global Sumud Flotilla movement is a non-violent fleet sailing to break the Israeli siege by sea. The last remaining boat, Marinette, was intercepted 42.5 nautical miles off the coast of Gaza.

The discourse outside of activist spaces often dismissed the impact of a few sailboats, that they aren’t bringing nearly enough aid into Gaza. I say: you are missing the point.

Israel is enforcing a naval blockade on Gaza, the siege first started in 2007.

On livestream, the world saw Israeli armed military personnel intercepted and captured sailboats filled with humanitarian aid. How fragile is Israeli colonial occupation that a humanitarian mission elicits a military response?

Meanwhile, Palestinians fished from the coast of Gaza amidst a Phase 5 famine. The flotilla gave Palestinians a moment of relief by distracting Israeli authorities. Gazans had relative safety to fish without deadly consequences.

Disrupting the naval blockade is not a standalone event, this is another crack in Israel’s collapsing colonial status quo. The world has witnessed the cruelty of this genocide. Solidarity for a free Palestine will only grow bigger and stronger.

We the people will not look away from genocide.

Rise up for Gaza! Rise up for West Bank! Rise up for Palestine!

It is not too late to speak up and take action. Keep an eye out for the call for global action! Look up your local events. If you can’t attend physical events, you can donate, volunteer, write to your elected officials, or organize solidarity events.

From the river to the sea, Palestine will be free.

This is not a motto. This is my core belief that one day in the near future, from the river to the sea, Palestine will be free.
